Punta Mango
One of the country's most consistent and powerful waves, ideal for intermediate and advanced surfers.
Level: Intermediate / Advanced
Best season: March – October
Wave type: Right point break
Recommendation: Respect the order in the water and local surfers.
Surf and SUP
Twelve world-class breaks along 19 km of coastline, for surfers of all levels. From accessible beaches for beginners to demanding point breaks for advanced surfers.
Local surf etiquette and safety code:
- + Respect priority in the lineup
- + Give way to the local surfer
- + Never cut across another surfer's path
- + Remember you're a guest here
- + If you don't know the spot, ask before paddling out
- + Rivers and estuaries are not trash cans: whatever goes in there ends up straight in the ocean
Seasons:
Summer (May-Oct): The season with the biggest swell. South Pacific swells reaching 15 feet, heavy rains and temperatures around 27°C.
Fall (Nov): The end of the rains, cleaner waves and fewer crowds.
Winter (Dec-Feb): Dry season, with small and inconsistent surf.
Spring (Mar-Apr): The golden season. Dry weather, the first south swells and firing points. Late March is the ideal time.
Nature & Adventure
Hikes to Viewpoints
Trails that climb the coastal mountains up to viewpoints with 360° views over the ocean, the valleys and the breaks.
Moderate trails, between 1 and 3 hours of hiking, ideal at sunrise or sunset.
